Arabesque represents the natural world at its tipping point. The idyllic world we boast is a façade. And the beauty is blinding us from seeing that balance we have struck is not a position we can hold for much longer. Though we are witnessing the environment dissolve beneath our feet, we are resistant to make any changes. And as long as our world continues to dance for us, we’ll believe the harmony to be eternal.
The Arabesque represents our fragile position; eager for the curtain to descend.
Edgardo works from his garden in a quiet neighborhood above Los Angeles. It is far from his hometown barrio of El Corazon, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, but reminiscent of it. Edgardo identified himself as an artist immediately and developed his passion for art throughout his upbringing in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Being the only artist in his family and struggling to find other painters to learn from in urban Lawrence, he cultivated his talents from his own heart. His education continued at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where he received his Bachelor degree in Retail Marketing and Management. The success of his artwork, which he continued to produce on the side, allowed him to transition full-time into being an artist. Press coverage of Edgardo’s artwork and exhibitions began to occur more frequently, in media outlets such as: Telemundo, Original Living Magazine, Providence Español, Eagle Tribute Merrimack Valley, and Adelante Magazine August Issue 2016.
