Curator's Note: Dyanna is one of our most popular artists, whose work often explores different themes including self and body image, as seen here.
I chose the title for this piece because of the literal drawing of the body parts. I just created this piece in 2015 for a spring show. I'm starting to add in body parts to more of my pieces. I like the way they flow with the abstractness. The canvas is 16" x 20" without the frame. The frame is a large wood up cycled matte solid wood frame. This piece would look good in a traditional or modern setting. It is very versatile.
An ecological consciousness lies close to the heart of California native Dyanna’s art, which incorporates reused material and found objects. While studying sculpture at UC Santa Cruz, her interest in found medium grew. Dyanna currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.
