A sculptural mixed media abstract piece. The paper and rolls make the piece highly textured. Oil pastel around the edges and spaces of the paper to bring depth. A white shape made of paper reminds me of ice or a glacier. The continuous paper and light pink stripe keeps your eye moving around the piece, following a path. Sides painted grey and hang wire attached. Large, contemporary piece.
This piece is from my F O U N D series. Shown at Storefront Gallery at 49 Geary Art Galleries, San Francisco.
An ecological consciousness lies close to the heart of California native Dyanna’s art, which incorporates reused material and found objects. While studying sculpture at UC Santa Cruz, her interest in found medium grew. Dyanna currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.
