Rorschach ish shadows in a conceptual piece about things not always being what they seem. I used acrylic, ink, paper, aerosol and cut out this little flowers from magazine clippings. All on stretched canvas with plastic caution tape attached. The found objects worked out perfectly with this piece and my concept. It slowly came together. I felt the piece needed something after finishing the canvas section, so it sat in my studio in the corner for awhile. One day walking into work, I found the missing link! The red caution tape. It really brings a certain vibe and character to this piece and strongly enhances the concept I was going for. Colorful piece, sides painted yellow and hang wire attached.
An ecological consciousness lies close to the heart of California native Dyanna’s art, which incorporates reused material and found objects. While studying sculpture at UC Santa Cruz, her interest in found medium grew. Dyanna currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.
