Don Baker's paintings and print designs allow him to explore design in many forms and expressions, without the parameters of a client's specific needs. Don loves to draw and sketch, especially in his travels, where interesting scenes seem to be around every corner. Some of these drawings are finished later with the addition of color and texture.

This image was painted from sketches I did while visiting Barcelona and San Sebastian. I was definitely influenced by the Miro and Picasso museums I visited there. It is acrylic on a gallery quality stretched canvas, and can be hung with no frame needed.

Don is a traveler, percussionist, painter and graphic artist. His assignments include icon design for Microsoft, Tableau Software and others. He does presentation artwork for various clients, as well as magazine illustrations, infographics for sustainability and nonprofits, festival artwork and music CD cover designs. Don works in a studio in Seattle, overlooking Lake Union and Gasworks Park. His work has been featured in trade magazines including Communication Arts, Print, How Magazines, Electronic Design, The Society of Illustrators, Licensing Today Worldwide, and Art Buyer. His sub-culture art ‘zines’ Eulipian and InnerG are part of a permanent mail art archival exhibit in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
