The reason I chose the title for this piece is that was my state of mind so I wrote the kanji for tranquility
I created this piece at a very stressful point in my life, I was seeking tranquility and peace at the time.
My inspiration in creating this piece (insert story of inspiration)
I started this painting with something else in mind, but I got stressed and made a huge mistake so I scrubbed off the canvas but the moon had started to set into the canvas and it left an impression, so I thought it was interesting that a very tranquil painting came from a moment of stress and ran with what came to mind.
Growing up I learned to appreciate art at an early age. I first learned how to draw and understand lines, shadowing and blending. Then progressed to painting with oils. Learning from artists like Beaupre, Ginzburg, and Christenson. I have a background of martial arts, Buddhism, a love for the East, wildlife and Jazz music. So all of this naturally reflects in a lot of my work. My work takes you on a journey in search of your inner self. Now retired from Law Enforcement, I have decided to dedicate my time to my passion for painting. And sharing that passion with you. I live in upstate New York with my wife Kate and our three sons.
