DL Robbins
About the Artist

Thank you for your time. I appreciate you reading this and taking a look at the art I create.

I believe each of us is born with a desire to create. We often think of creativity as only living in the arts – music, dance, poetry, writing, theater, painting…

Look at your life – when you cook a meal you are creating. Raising a family is the highest level of creating – forming and mentoring human beings! Writing a computer program or creating a spreadsheet…

My creative outlet is impressionist and abstract painting. I am a lover of God and a follower of Christ. Many of my works are inspired by Bible verses such as the Creation Series (Genesis), Flowers of the Field (Matthew 6), and Feeling a Little Rusty (Matthew 6).

Again, thank you for taking time to read this.

May you be given eyes to see the beauty surrounding you.
Diane LaVern Robbins

Diane LaVern Robbins (DL Robbins) has lived in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and currently Kansas. She shares her home with her husband Rusty. She is known to sneak to the garage to rummage through Rusty's tool bag for a putty knife for her latest painting. Each piece is comprised of multiple layers of painting applied with various knives. The last thing she wants is perfection. Her work has a distressed feel creating depth, texture, movement, and emotion. Diane comes to the art world with a background in business and non-profit fundraising. She completed her Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is recognized nationally as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She began painting in 2000 while living in New Mexico. Inspired by the beauty of nature and creative works of others - she is self-taught. Her first piece entered in competition won a grand champion award. Encouragement from family and friends motivated her to begin to sell her work through art shows. In her first show, 25% of her work sold.
