Art is my passion and my reason for being. My work is my way of giving to others and if I can inspire and cause people to react in a positive or even negative way and touch hearts, then I have succeeded as an artist. I live to create, my art mirrors truth and reveals my soul, the rest is in the eyes of the beholder.
I think I was an artist forever, the earliest recollection I have of being an artist is when I was five years old. I loved to copy my aunt's art class drawings of charcoal, Roman statues. From then on it was non stop. I went to the High School of Music and art then to the Fashion Institute of Technology. I studied fashion illustration and shortly after graduation worked in the fashion field for some time doing fashion art. I married, had two beautiful daughters and took many years out of the professional world to raise my children. I never wanted to do commercial art again when the time came for me to get back in the groove. I wanted to paint, paint, paint. And so here I am! I paint what inspires me, however, my love to draw and paint, the elegant, feminine and fashionable type woman still persists. When I paint them I carry them over a little further than just images, most of them have a story of a mystery about them. I mostly enjoy recreating the vintage Art Deco and old Hollywood glamour type women. I feel they have a certain elegance and femininity that is lost in today's world and should never be forgotten. I hope you enjoy viewing my art and am grateful to you for stopping by, it means a lot to me.
