Ready to Hang
The reason I chose the title for this piece is because in her Afro you will find swirls of different types of glitters and constellations.
I created this piece when I was in my friends studio in Chicago for a weekend in March.
During my time in Chicago it was very peaceful and I was focusing more on what I felt on the inside. With March being National Women's Appreciation Month I was wanting to get in touch with what I truly felt and wanted in life and wanted to start a journey of empowerment.
I am a 24 year old ex-rugby player. I'm originally from Ohio and moved to Brooklyn recently with two suitcases and a free spirit. I still haven't quit found my way in life but who has? I travel when I'm able to and have been to multiple countries including parts of Africa, Europe, and the Bahamas. Throughout the years of traveling I have adapted a love for culture, community and creativity. All of which I express through my poetry and paintings. I hope you enjoy what my mind throws up on these canvases.
