Ready to Hang
The title of this work comes form Josef Albers series of paintings with the same name. I was thinking about the simplicity of that work and the design principals involved when making this.
I created this work as a continuation of my exploration of paper forms. It takes inspiration from previous paper sculptures of mine that can be seen on my website. The artwork is three dimensional and made to hang as a wall sculpture.
I always had a passion for art, math and science since I was a small boy. I pursued that interest at the University of Iowa where I earned degrees in both Art and Civil Engineering. While attending graduate school I discoverd that I could mix my two degrees and create art that incorporated my engineering training. This allowed me to begin exhibiting artwork across the United States and even the United Kingdom. I like simple minimal elegant forms. I take my inspiration from architecture, nature, science and math. If you like my work, please visit my website at deljacksonfor a more images of my work and my resume. I am currently residing in Boston, Massachusetts where I am working in my studio and assisting a few local artist in theirs.
