Ready to Hang
The reason I chose the title for this piece (insert reasoning)
Ready to hang
Deborah Lanino's new painting series "Floral Expressions" Acrylic on stretched burlap. Ready to hang with an interesting raw burlap canvas texture. These do not require a frame. Inspiration: The Flower. The first thing humans valued with no utilitarian value was the flower. Research shows that looking at paintings of flowers lights up the pleasure centers in your brain. The more beautiful something is, the more intense the activity. These paintings are painted impressionistically and loosely - to capture the moment. Like a flower, each painting is fleeting, delicate and vibrant.)
Deborah is an artist living in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York. She also has studied in Florence, Italy. Deborah's work has been associated with several major artistic styles and she has created works in many mediums, including paintings, pastels, drawings, published book covers, children’s books, posters for the theater, magazine covers, movie sets, and fine art prints. Her style is a fusion of Post Impressionism and Expressionism. Her subject matter is dreamscapes, real and imagined, including landscapes and seascapes. Deborah uses classical techniques from Italian masters, such as glazing (applying thin layers of translucent colors), chiaroscuro (Italian for the use of strong contrasts between light and dark), and sfumato, which is painting without abrupt outline by blending one tone into another.
