This piece is titled: Expressionist Friends. It is an oil on canvas. It is a piece about perspective. I am using a vanishing point in the painting. It is about young people that are in a transitional place making new friends, keeping the old and moving forward. This piece is from my New York period.
Deborah is an artist living in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York. She also has studied in Florence, Italy. Deborah's work has been associated with several major artistic styles and she has created works in many mediums, including paintings, pastels, drawings, published book covers, children’s books, posters for the theater, magazine covers, movie sets, and fine art prints. Her style is a fusion of Post Impressionism and Expressionism. Her subject matter is dreamscapes, real and imagined, including landscapes and seascapes. Deborah uses classical techniques from Italian masters, such as glazing (applying thin layers of translucent colors), chiaroscuro (Italian for the use of strong contrasts between light and dark), and sfumato, which is painting without abrupt outline by blending one tone into another.
