On The Bayou is a contemporary landscape painting on a 12 x 12 Gallery Wrapped Canvas (1.5″ deep). These dreamy colors of orange and pink clouds in a blue sky above the green grasses of the Louisiana bayou. As a child I remember floating in a boat on the water, fishing and thinking this was almost like being in another world. Impressionistic and abstract with lots of texture added by using heavy gel medium and glass beads. Finished with gloss varnish to protect from dust and harmful uv rays. Sides are painted white.
Deb Breton is best known for her colorful mixed media abstract and portrait paintings. Deb found her “painting voice” at a late age while caring for her mom under hospice. Though she’s primarily a self-taught painter, her earlier design career found her working with brands like Warner Bros. Studio’s and the Dali Museum. These days, living and painting in Sonoma County, California, she oftentimes combines color with words and lyrics to express empowering themes. When viewing her exuberant and admittedly occasional strange work, you get a sense that every line, brushstroke, droplet, and scrape of paint is made with a deliberate hand, guided by an intentional spirit.
