Ready to Hang
In celebration of life on two wheels this mixed media piece on wood features a colorful background painted in my signature layered style and overlaid with my original hand printed image. Wired and ready to hang.
Buckle up, this is art with a sense of adventure. The city is my muse and I love peeling away layers of its gritty wonderfulness to find fleeting moments that make up the urban experience. Through art I am able to elevate those moments and connect us with things that make city life so awesome. Using images, composition and color, I strive to make emotional connections that remind us to be aware of our surroundings, to look up and enjoying every day experiences. To create my mixed media work, I combine materials like original hand printed images of people and cityscapes with acrylic paint and paper (and whatever other materials I find) to tie in visual elements that inspire me. Before printing my image, I create multiple layers for the background and then begin the process of removing areas to reveal what's beneath the surface. This process emulates the effects of time–peeling paint, rust, and layers of graffiti–adding details that help tell our urban stories. Sometimes I ditch the images and just paint, using an abstract style inspired by textures and street art.
