Realism- My drawings are focused on a refined process of depicting a feeling of solitude, mystique, question, and narrative resonance in a vividly immediate manner. The interesting part is that the time it takes to create that amount of polish by hand is anything but immediate. The process drives the realm of the aesthetic. That is also the creative addiction about it. It is a deep love.
Conceptual abstraction- This is a form of pure expression which is purged to paper and refined to personal aesthetic. There are no predetermined concepts. They are all done on the spot and done while taking short breaks from realism. They allow me to draw something different everyday.
I am a visual artist who works primarily in charcoal and graphite for realism, and ink/graphite for conceptually surreal abstraction. The mastery of these styles was a result of 30 years of sketching and drawing with a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in Drawing. I now take commissions for work and use my own concepts daily.
