Ready to Hang
This is an early piece I had done. I really enjoy the lines on his body. Wanted to be a little abstract.
David Rule I am very excited to share my work with you. I have always loved art, the passion to create art, and the trials and errors involved. My earliest work had hung on refrigerator doors as a child, my bedroom walls as a teen, and in many art classes taken in later years. Recently, I have professionally shown in shows and sold work in galleries. I don't always know what the end result will be when I start a piece of work and I am continually thinking from conception thru execution, making changes, sometimes starting over (gesso and I are CLOSE friends), and finally reaching that point on a piece that I am proud to sign my name to. My main mediums are watercolors, ink, and acrylic. My work reflects a bold use of color and black and white. I love to mix watercolor and ink for a dramatic impact to the viewer. I have studied at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI where my life drawing classes were the beginning. Amazed with the human body, later studies as a massage therapist have broadened my knowledge of the human body and it's wonderful muscle structure. I currently live in Treasure Island, FL with my partner Christopher. Several moves from Michigan have led us here as owners of a unique gift shop...LadyBug Shop & Turtle Treasures.
