The reason I choose the title for the piece is because I wanted to capture the peace and solitude of a quiet steam as it effortlessly runs through life. It's a reminder how we should slow down and enjoy our surroundings rather than be rushed. I painted this two years ago whenI I was experimenting with layering and color. The painting has many subtle shades of color that blend together as a whole. My motivation was to reflect back the beauty and simplicity found in nature, and how we can be reminded of that in a painting
My name is David LaPorte. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I'm a self taught artist and have been painting for the past 15 years. I'm originally from Upstate New York and presently live in Los Angeles. My inspiration to paint came from living in Europe-Paris, Milan, Madrid and Barcelona. I loved the rich history and the beautiful countryside-along with incredible museums. As an artist, I’m fascinated with depth and layers of human emotion. My objective is to translate this challenge onto my canvas. Each painting is a new adventure in the use of color, texture and layering. My intention is to give the surface of the canvas a multi textured feel. Ultimately, the movement on the surface will give way to an inner quiet as I lead the viewer deeper. So it is through the use of bold color, along with spontaneity, that my paintings reflect the rich effect of feeling in our lives. My Impressionist Landscape paintings elevate. I believe great art can touch us deeply and lift us to a higher place. All my work is a reflection of that-a remembrance of our own creative self; the peace within.
