A solitary figure walking on a path through a wooded park in the winter. I enjoy creating winter scenes, capturing some of the incredible nuance snow demonstrates in light and color. Mixing oil paint with cold wax medium makes the paint surface buttery to work with palette knives while increasing transparency.
Art is my outlet. It is an outlet for expression - both external and internal. Although I took drawing and painting classes in college and painted during that time, I am largely self-taught. Returning to painting over the last couple years after a lengthy period of inactivity, I discovered that my desire to express myself in paint had not dimmed but instead was stronger than ever.
