As you may be able to tell; I approached this piece with industry in mind, in an attempt to draw commentary on consumerism and trade. In the piece, I'm drawing comparisons on ourselves, to the things that we consume. And I'm also analyzing the relationship we have with our 'stuff' as it refers to trade, exportation, and GDP. Additionally, I’m looking to develop a conversation on how data is being used to form our identity, from the things that we purchase.
In the center of the image is a bridge, which refers to the 'bridging' of economies, and globalization. I'm using the two separate areas on each side of that bridge, as two separate economies, but also as a double entendre, for data and identity. The whimsical abstract blocks moving across the bridge, give an impression that we’re evolving to discuss the ideas raised.
