The scale of my recent work ranges from twenty-four square inches to forty-eight square inches. I arrived at the square to avoid the preconceived notions that accompany traditional landscape and portrait formats. I am a mixed media artist who relies heavily on the traditional Oil over Acrylic paints on both canvas and wood panel supports. I occasionally venture into the use of spray media and resins.
My name is Danielle Halford and I was born in Birmingham, Alabama. As a small child my family moved to Plano, Texas. I currently reside in Bay Point, California and attend San Francisco Art Institute where I am pursuing an MFA. In 2011, I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Painting. I work in oil, acrylic, printmaking, and photography. I am interested in using art for activism both locally and internationally. I'm fortunate enough to have displayed work at a fundraiser benefiting Wounded Warriors. This interest has also taken me to Montreal, Canada for an HIV/AIDS art benefit. In the past, it led me to join the Plano Art Association in my home state of Texas. In 2004 I was appointed to the Board of Directors as the Social Chair at the request of Nelum Walpola, that year's President. If you have an event or fundraiser that you would be interested in having my participate feel free to contact me.
