Oceana is the first in a much more abstract representation of the ocean. Growing up in Western Australia the beach life is prominent.
The depth of blue when observing sea and sky fills us with memories of times spent with those close to us. Maybe even solitude. Adventures of days or nights by the ocean.
This is one of the largest paintings I have so far at 101.5 x 76 cm it was quite a challenge. Built up using multiple layers of quality paint.
I really enjoyed the freedom to express and plan on pursuing more this size.
I began the painting with a large brush to block out a basic composition. From there I used palette knifes to create movement and texture. Up close you can see the raised areas where I didn't hold back in applying the paint thickly in impasto style.
To create a different mood I've made use of purple tones. Purple being the complimentary colour to yellow, which works well with the neutral areas representing the sandscape. In addition to the various shades of blue this gives the overall painting a wonderful sense of harmony.
I have taken many photos of this work, ranging from close ups, to in situ to show the work in different scenes. Each room brings it's own sense of light and mood.
As with all work, the photo's should capture the artwork well, however it is pleasing to me that in person this painting will no doubt satisfy the owner. Fresh, Modern, Inspired. Please check on various devices as colour will sometimes vary.
Sides will be painted white to reflect your wall colour.

Painting still lifes mostly, with occasional seascapes and abstracts. With a view to expand into portraits and landscapes. I strive to build a collection of artworks that consistently reach levels of high quality and originality, as I continue to forge my own artistic style. Experimenting with colour, emotion, light, shade, value and form thru works that are abstract creations thru to works based on realism. Ideally a combination of both. I have sold artworks from my residence in Perth Western Australia to locations locally, nationally and internationally.
