The reason I chose the title for this piece is because of the setting; this barn is set in the middle of a vineyard in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, CA.
I created this piece about three years after I started seriously painting, when my children were big enough so that I didn't have to spend every spare minute on them!
My inspiration for this piece is the beauty of my surroundings, I love living in Sonoma County. I'm planning to paint more landscapes of farms and vineyards, farm animals and produce.
Sharing art is one of the best means of having closer contact with the Almighty Creator. I think God must have a great sense of humor; most people see only the serious side of Bible reading, but there really is a lot of cheer, encouragement and humor in it if you think about it. I'd like it if you would use my artwork as a starting point for conversations about encouragement and cheerfulness. I live in Northern California with my husband and three grown children, and our pets, of course. My works are primarily oil paintings, either using brushes, painting knives, rags, my fingers, and anything else I can find to make an interesting color or texture. I also enjoy creating elaborate sculptures from found and recycled materials. Anything to get my hands dirty! My love of nature, color and whimsy are apparent in my artwork.
