I try to portray love & tranquility in each of my work to bring visual comfort to everyone who sees it.
This painting I call "Complete surrender". It is a painting of a Temple in Varanasi, India. Varanasi is the spiritual capital of India and the oldest living city in the world. Chinese traveler Hiuen Tsiang, who visited the city around 635 AD, attested that the city was a center of religious and artistic activities. Guru Nanak Dev visited Varanasi in 1507, a trip that played a large role in the founding of Sikhism. Muslim Mughal emperor Akbar who invested in the city and built two large temples dedicated to Hindu God Shiva and Vishnu.
C. S Dutt is an Architect by profession and is a highly skilled & talented Artist as well. Watercolors have been his preferred medium. His love for designing buildings shows in his works and this has created his own niche in this field. An eye for details & a keen sense of observation have served him well, making his painting true to life. His paintings draw a parallel between the beauty of nature-God's creation, and the beauty of architecture- man's creation. C.S.Dutt's realistic landscapes and seascapes have been inspired by his travel to many countries in the world. His visit to France and Italy gave him exposure to works of European masters which reflect in his own works. He was especially mesmerized by the rustic countryside of France & the elegance of its towns & cities. Incorporating the intricate details of scenery into his works, the artist creates an unusual realism. The subjects in his paintings comprises of still life, landscape, water bodies etc surrounded by heritage buildings and monuments. His favorite theme remains the riverfront steps leading to the river Ganges where Hindus take a holy dip in India. This site is in one of the world's oldest cities-Varanasi or Benaras, India. Some of his paintings are based on the everyday life of the rural India. Colors in his paintings always seem to be charged with emotional tinges like joy, sorrow & calmness. Brisk brushwork with light usage of colors add a unique dimension to them. While some of his some paintings are very vibrant others are quite subtle depending on the artist's various moods.
