I created a stack of cut-up paintings on paper. I photographed the result, then removed each painting from the stack, photographing the result before removing the next painting. Hence the title "Removements".
This is one in a series of nine pieces on masonite.
My inspiration in creating this piece is based on my fascination with complexities that exist when I cut out shapes from various materials -- nature books, discarded paintings and decorative paper -- and rearrange them at random to create new images.
