Ready to Hang
I love the energy of sunflowers. This was set up out in the sun and was so much fun to paint. It really did give me joy while creating this painting.
My name is Claudia Moriarty. I am a Vango artist. I studied art in High School and her teacher created her first show in the lobby of a local theatre. I continued her education at Daytona Beach Community College. My studies were interrupted to marry and raise a family. She continues to study via workshops with artists such as Morgan Samuel Price, Larry Moore, Mike Rooney, Kathleen Denis, Mary Garrish and others. I continue to study whenever possible as she believes the creation of art is an ongoing process. Art played an important role in my life. I found herself a single-mom and supplemented my income doing portraits of peoples’ sailboats. I was a watercolorist until she lost her home twice to disasters. An artist/teacher friend supplied a new studio with a variety of mediums and told her to expand. She fell in love with pastel and oil. She now works exclusively in oil. I chaired a show for Purple Isles Art Guild held at Everglades National Park Coe Center. My art was on display at The National Key Deer Refuge. I am advocate for Florida’s environment and my art often reflects this. I participate in paint outs whenever I can. I recently hosted a paint out for Oil Painters of America. My art can also be acquired at the Artamorada Gallery in Islamorada and the Key Largo Art Gallery in Key Largo and my website. I often uses her art to support a variety of causes for veterans, preservation projects of natural places and the Marrvelous Pet Rescue in my home town. I am a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Plein Air South, Lightchasers, Inc., Florida Plein Air and the Art Guild of the Purple Isles. Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
