I titled this piece after the color I used in its creation. It is a part of my minimalist house and barn series. I want to create a feeling or sense of memory using familiar scenery and shapes with color being the focus. I want to pull the viewer in to each piece and have their senses fill in the story of the scene.
The painting is oil on canvas with the staples on the back, and I have painted the sides, so no frame is required.
I am a painter. I have loved painting all my life. I studied Art and Art History at UC Berkeley, and have been painting professionally ever since. I have shown in galleries and museums all over California, and have sold hundreds of paintings all over the world, from New York, to Finland and Qatar. I am inspired by nature, color and emotion. Hopefully you will get a sense of calm, happiness, or wonder from what I paint. I'm not out to make political statements with my work, but to express joy and gratitude of life through the medium of oil paints. Claire Whitehead
