I love the message of life, rest, strength, and longevity that the idea of trees evoke…and trees have an incredible range of imagery in my Christian spiritual roots. I collect images of trees from other artists, and they frequently find a place in any type of art I create!

This image was inspired as I was contemplating Revelation 22:2: On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

This folk art “Tree of Life” with 12 blossoms (representing the twelve crops of fruit mentioned in the Revelation passage) is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas with acrylics and watercolors over a collaged background of old Bible pages from the Psalms. An antiquing glaze over the entire piece contributes to its “old” feel. Hand written portion is from Proverbs 3:18 and says “Wisdom…is a tree of life to those who take hold of her…happy are all who hold her fast.” The number “12″ has spiritual significance in our Christian faith…it represents healing, authority, and the body of Christ. This tree will add a subtle witness of your walk of faith where ever you place it!

Signed and dated on the back…Gallery wrapped canvas. Sides painted black and it comes ready for hanging.

I have always been a collector of things. I remember gathering pretty pebbles in a baby food jar, chosen from a creek that ran through the farm I lived on as a girl. Mom poured water in the jar to help clean up those precious gems, and we placed it in the porch windowsill where we could admire the soft beauty of the stones...the jar remained there through that winter, the frigid temperatures causing the water in the jar froze, trapping tiny air bubbles amid the pebbles - the effect was beautiful. I've never outgrown the wonder of finding the surprise of beauty in the ordinary rhythms of life. For me, my art and my calling to help others are an extension of my passion for gathering together fragments and bits of beauty from around my world... And that is what I want to help you with. To discover the quiet beauty and remarkable peace that waits to be discovered in the ordinary, commonplace, collected moments that color the masterpiece that is your life! {In expressing ourselves creatively, we are inspired and inspire others! Let art fill your home and life with inspiration and beauty!}
