An original acrylic painting by contemporary artist Christopher Edge.
Using strong, expressionistic imagery, childlike figures, with simple, swift brushwork and thin layers of loosely applied paint this piece at first appears whimsical and naive. According to the artist "the intent was to view violence and war as a child. I wanted to show disfigurement through the lens of the hopeful, while in terms of composition, maintaining that deeper absence of hope or a higher power. I used a lot of worldly symbols of the ancient art while painting them with a strong sense of triviality. This is one of my few, if only, statements on this aspect of humanity."
When you purchase a Christopher Edge piece you are not just adding a unique work to your art collection, but are making a strong investment into contemporary American art.
