10"X"10 Original mixed media painting in honor of a band I played with in the past. We broke up when certain members of the band decided to silence there dreams. This piece inspires me to keep creating and follow my dreams.
Deep cradled ready to hang wood panel.
Sealed with a clear archival acrylic that provides excellent flexibility and resistance to chemicals, water, abrasion and ultraviolet radiation.
My work is emotionally layered, messy, textured, and rhythmic in thought. Much like an improvised solo, scattered color often moves freely in and out of the structured chord progression, of an idea, and/or feeling. I enjoy using colorfully sewn characters in my paintings to make lighthearted statements of frustration, motivation, love, lust, and absurdity. However, there are moments in my work where the process, of emotional release, is more important than the idea. The meaning is then left for the viewer to ascertain. In any case, a layered improvised mess of scratchy lines and colorful noise invade each piece creating a sense of movement and musicality. I currently live and work in Minnesota and hold a Bachelors in Fine Art from the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul MN.
