The process and ideas behind my art are varied and come from lots of sources. Mostly from the beauty in nature. The colors and twisted, beautiful shapes and designs only nature can produce. Nature is very forgiving to the artist. A lot can be left for the viewer to interpret or fill in the gaps. Much like abstracts can be. Purposeful chaos can be a beautiful thing.
Music also inspires my painting and art. It sets a mood that can last for hours or days. Or it can cause me to jump seeping from style to style and create something completely unexpected. I've always been an artist and find the most joy seeing the smiles and wide eyes of my clients. It's pretty awesome.
My name is Chris Walters. I am a Vango artist. I am a police officer of 16 years. I do a lot of commission work as well as painting for leisure. I sell my paintings at local festivals and through exposure on Facebook and word of mouth. I have had my works in local exhibits and county museum with some exclusive company. I was awarded the Director's award in a gallery competition in 2014. Art is hit or miss, like life. It's a relief and an escape for me. It keeps me sane and brings me joy and brings me anxiety. It's a reflection of what we all do. Try to make an impression and learn from our failures and our victories. I work mostly in acrylic on canvas. Some pencil and watercolor from time to time as well. Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
