York River in York Maine. This is the 3rd of a 3 painting series catching lone figures in a moment in time working or just living life.
This guy looked so determined and focused booking down the river - add the architecture of the dock and trees in shadow - I had to paint this one.
The frame is made out of kiln-dried douglas fir. with a black matte finish by a family-owned CA company.
Most days you will find Chris painting at his studio in Kittery Maine or out photographing seacoast subjects. His paintings are rendered in a realistic style and incorporate graphic compositions and spontaneous color interpretation. An active participant in Maine’s art community Chris exhibits in many shows in southern and mid-coast Maine. His association memberships include The Art Guild of the Kennebunks and The York Art Association. His paintings have also exhibited at the Barn Gallery in Ogunquit Maine and The York Village Gallery in York Maine. A graduate of Vesper George School of Art, Boston, MA, Chris operated a successful illustration and graphic design business, Artworks Visual Communication, in Massachusetts for over 25 years. Chris produced illustrations and graphic designs utilized in a variety of publications, textbooks, marketing collateral, billboards, and signage. Chris also enjoyed teaching Advertising Design and Cartooning courses at UMass Lowell.
