This is an original painting done by me, of a bride carrying a velvety red bouquet, and wearing a ruby red necklace. This piece appeared on the cover of the April 2015 issue of Sasee Magazine.
Growing up in Southern Maryland, studying art and interior design in Charlotte, and spending a great deal of time in cities all over the south, I consider myself a southerner through and through. With a strong affinity for sweet tea, pearls, chandeliers, and an unnatural attraction to classic old movies, it is probably only natural that my whimsical, feminine paintings of dresses and rooms with sparkling chandeliers would have a vintage flair. When I am painting, I can go into that world of old movies that I love so much, where the dresses are beautiful, men are dapper, and everyone talks politely to each other.
