I have always been fascinated with human anatomy. Especially bones. A lot of people consider skulls to be a dark or evil, but I find them very interesting to look at. When I was studying in college I created an "ecorche" model and built up a human being one bone and muscle at a time. It seems to have left a lasting impression on my imagination and creative outlets.

Curator's Note: The artistic study of human anatomy from the bone outward dates all the back to da Vinci. Here, Chase brings a decidedly contemporary feel to a historic practice.

My name is Chase Weggeland. I am an independent artist out of Gilroy, California. I am a tattoo artist and for a while I did conceptual artwork for video games. I've been making art my entire life and after creating paintings for a few clients I have decided to broaden my horizons and expand into various outlets to provide artwork to all who may be interested.
