This gentleman was sitting on one of the many bridges that cross the Seine river in Paris. He was tuning his guitar and getting ready for the crowd that would ultimately surround him to hear him play.
For the past 20 yrs or so I've made a living as a faux finisher and muralist. My love of art took me back to school in my 30's where I spent a few years taking classes in drawing, painting, color theory and art history. I wanted to start at the basics and dive into learning about the process of creating art, and doing it in a thoughtful educated way. Learning the fundamentals, and then taking gradually harder more challenging classes in drawing and painting was really important to me. It gave me the strong foundation I needed, and has proven to be essential in my career. Having started out only being able to offer very basic decorative painting to my clients, I eventually was able to offer a wide range of artistic creations, from commissioned paintings, to full scale complex mural designs. The life of an artist is not always easy, but I love what I do, and the excitement of taking on challenging jobs and pushing myself to learn more with each project is always rewarding!
