The ability to fly has been viewed differently across time and culture. In the past flight was seen as an unobtainable power given to gods, angels, and mythical creatures. When ancient humans attempted flight, such as Icarus, death and sorrow was usually the result. Now that humans have the ability to fly, what does that say about how we view ourselves? What does that say about our future? This painting is 2 canvases hinged in the center.
