This oil painting was made while I was staying at the Badlands National Park.
I made this painting in 2010 as a part of a series of paintings made at the Badlands. Sunset at this park was amazing, the changes in terrain and the colors in the sky are like none I've ever seen.
It is oil on paper, painted on site in the badlands.
Any proceeds made by the me (after gallery/site fees) on the sale of this painting, will be donated to the Standing Rock Sioux NoDAPL fund in the name of the buyer.
After graduating from the Pratt Institute with a degree in Art Education and painting, I’ve been living in Redding Connecticut and working as a painter and printmaker and sculptor . I have also been an art educator for the past 12 years. I teach art to grades three through five in the public schools. When I am not teaching or making art I am traveling with my family, hiking and camping around the national parks in the U.S. or abroad. I have always loved travel, the outdoors and landscapes.
