This painting is of Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. I lived in Greenpoint for 2 years in 2002. I loved walking down the avenue, it had such energy, even when it was a bit deserted like it was on this Sunday Afternoon in September. The painting is made from photos and sketches that I made on location in Brooklyn, NY
After graduating from the Pratt Institute with a degree in Art Education and painting, I’ve been living in Redding Connecticut and working as a painter and printmaker and sculptor . I have also been an art educator for the past 12 years. I teach art to grades three through five in the public schools. When I am not teaching or making art I am traveling with my family, hiking and camping around the national parks in the U.S. or abroad. I have always loved travel, the outdoors and landscapes.
