This is a painting of a view of the city of Granada in Spain from a high point very close to the Alhambra. It was made from photos and sketches made there in November on a very cold and foggy day. I tried to capture the feeling of the cold but contrast it with the warm colors found so much in Spain.
After graduating from the Pratt Institute with a degree in Art Education and painting, I’ve been living in Redding Connecticut and working as a painter and printmaker and sculptor . I have also been an art educator for the past 12 years. I teach art to grades three through five in the public schools. When I am not teaching or making art I am traveling with my family, hiking and camping around the national parks in the U.S. or abroad. I have always loved travel, the outdoors and landscapes.
