This is a view looking down the road in Glacier National Park. The Road is called "going to the sun road", what a great name for a road!
I painted this piece this May (2015) using sketches that i'd made and photos.
I've always loved travel and road travel in particular. This was one of the most amazing roads I've ever traveled.
This painting is oil on canvas and is gallery wrapped, the image wraps around the edges of the canvas.
After graduating from the Pratt Institute with a degree in Art Education and painting, I’ve been living in Redding Connecticut and working as a painter and printmaker and sculptor . I have also been an art educator for the past 12 years. I teach art to grades three through five in the public schools. When I am not teaching or making art I am traveling with my family, hiking and camping around the national parks in the U.S. or abroad. I have always loved travel, the outdoors and landscapes.
