This is a silkscreen print of an abandoned rail yard in Brooklyn New York.
I created this piece in 2008. The rail yard was a place i revisited often while living in Brooklyn. Although the tracks lead no where this place represented movement and travel for me, an important theme in my life.
It is a 12 color silkscreen print, there were 24 in the series this is one of 2 that are left.
After graduating from the Pratt Institute with a degree in Art Education and painting, I’ve been living in Redding Connecticut and working as a painter and printmaker and sculptor . I have also been an art educator for the past 12 years. I teach art to grades three through five in the public schools. When I am not teaching or making art I am traveling with my family, hiking and camping around the national parks in the U.S. or abroad. I have always loved travel, the outdoors and landscapes.
