Head in the Clouds, Feet on the Ground
For this series I am using both vintage photographic processes, VanDyke Brown and Cyanotype together. These processes literally and physically help emphasize my feelings about where I live and how my life is going. I am using photographs of the landscapes around the place where I live for the printing of the two processes. The skies in these photographs are Cyanotypes symbolize the dreams I have for the rest of my new life. I may be dreaming about my future but my feet are still on the ground. The ground, farm fields, and scenic views shown in VanDyke Brown. This will connote the fact that I am grounded and realistic of the future ahead. I may have dreams and aspirations but I am standing on solid ground for the first time in many, many years.
The title of this piece is referring to the heat that comes off the crop fields. Even if it is has been cold at night, there is still heat produced by the fields. The fog can be confusing but at the same time beautiful.
