This piece is what I call a Photographic Canvas Collage. I first print my images on canvas, then cut them apart, and finally sew them back together. This process allows me to use different parts of my photographs to create one image that I see and can not necessarily take in a single photograph. I could use photoshop but I am more interested in the process of physically adding and subtracting layers. Photoshop can only imitate the appearance of texture. What makes a painting interesting is the application and layering of paint. With this process I am doing the same thing with canvas printed images.
Alley Mill Road Farm House is a house close to where I live. It is one of my favorite farm houses. I love to take the "long way" just so I can drive by to see it some days.
My name is Bronwen Hazlett. I am a Vango artist. I have my BFA in photography and am currently earning my Masters in Photography so that I may teach in college. Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
