Like many college graduates, I struggle to find a direction. I wandered, I couldn’t find the right fit. I took menial jobs and self-doubt crept in. I constantly asked, “What am I doing?” After a frustrating day, I would draw. Art made me feel better, gave me a sense of control and a sense of purpose. Art was always on my mind. The more I focused on my art, the more joy I felt.

Over time, my artwork evolved from drawing to painting. I experimented with different themes and mediums.

My biggest influences are Schiele, Goya, Hess and Rubens. Their work captured my attention and struck a chord with me … They had something important to “say”.
Gradually, since my early twenties, I’ve evolved into a painter. I often feel the evolution of the work is the most rewarding aspect of being a visual artist.
