Ready to Hang
This piece was largely painted en plein aire from a roadside position in the Saddleback Mountains looking out toward Newport Beach, California around dusk. Long shadows are cast across the valley as the sky just begins to blush from a setting sun. The yellow ray creates compositional balance and a modern focal point.
