His....This is her bicycle. A simple emotion of freedom, minimalism and reality. The reality we chose. This piece is a compliment of Hers... another bicycle. Both bikes face each other in opposite colors. Perfect for a modern bedroom. Painted with oils in deep reds and silver. Bicycles mean freedom of movement. A mode of transportation that makes you feel you can go far without depending on some exterior fuel, only your own strength. In a relationship, it is like this. The relationship will continue riding as long as both partners keep peddling....Love, freedom, choice and simplicity.
Gimena was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1971. She is daughter to well known Latin American singer Diego Verdaguer. Her passion for art became evident since she was two years old when she began constantly drawing. Through out her childhood and teenage years her love for art only grew and expanded into several techniques ranging from painting to pottery. After living in Switzerland and the U.S. taking several art courses, Gimena moved to Mexico City where she began her career as a professional artist. She developed a unique and original style that incorporated uncommon materials such as hardware, clay and found objects into her pieces. Renowned Mexican art dealer, Alejandro Echeverria was one of the first people to buy her work and begin collecting her art. Her work began to gain recognition, and soon many people began to commission her special art creations. In the 1990 ́s her work was featured in Architectural Digest magazine Mexico. Her pieces have been bought by prominent people in the Latin American entertainment industry. Some of her collectors include Juan Gabriel, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jaime Mausan, La Prieta Linda amongst others. During this time, her art was also featured in several TV shows and interviews. In parallel to her fine art work Gimena has also done set design, jewelry and is a published song writer. After becoming a mother she decided to move to Clearwater, Florida where she continues her personal research and art production. Her desire to expose all children to the arts has led her to make time in her busy schedule for teaching children and teenagers at a local school where she teaches art to over 200 students.
