Painting has always been a very emotional and dynamic experience. As I made this piece, I wasn't sure what I was making. I just let the paint flow from my subconscious onto the canvas. This piece went through several iterations before it was finished with one placed on top of the other. In a way each painting corrupted my ideal picture into what I finally recognized as a finished piece.
As a child my high functioning autism made it hard to communicate with the world. My mother, a former art therapist who had previously worked with Autistic adults began doing art therapy with me. Through art I found my voice. Each day I paint or make art on my computer as a way to process my day and express myself emotionally. Art is a part of who I have become and I try to bring that creativity to everything I do.
