In this portrait of my grandmother I tried to capture how you could always see in her eyes how she was feeling. All it took was a single stare and you could tell how a conversation or even an afternoon would go.
As a child my high functioning autism made it hard to communicate with the world. My mother, a former art therapist who had previously worked with Autistic adults began doing art therapy with me. Through art I found my voice. Each day I paint or make art on my computer as a way to process my day and express myself emotionally. Art is a part of who I have become and I try to bring that creativity to everything I do.
