Ready to Hang
On a personal note, I've always found one of the most peaceful places I can find myself is the local zoo, especially when I can bring a canvas to capture the beauty and innocence of my favorite animals. On one of those occasions I was painting scenes from the deer exhibit when I saw the very rare sight of the double rainbow. I took that as inspiration and interwove the environment and portrait into one hallucinogenic piece. I made this piece by collaging many smaller acrylic paintings I did that I then transferred onto an aluminum panel using ultraviolet inks. The piece is prepared on a floating aluminum panel with a bracket attached that is ready to be hung that I personally guaranty can support the weight of the piece. Another great advantage of this medium is that the lifetime (continued color intensity, does not fade) of my pieces far exceed paper or canvas based alternatives
As a child my high functioning autism made it hard to communicate with the world. My mother, a former art therapist who had previously worked with Autistic adults began doing art therapy with me. Through art I found my voice. Each day I paint or make art on my computer as a way to process my day and express myself emotionally. Art is a part of who I have become and I try to bring that creativity to everything I do.
