Ready to Hang

I made this as a tribute to the relationship between myself and my sister. I try to capture the complex and intricate ways we interact in an abstract manner that is reflective of how I see her and my emotions for her with my synesthesia. I made this piece by collaging many smaller acrylic paintings I did that I then transferred onto an aluminum panel using ultraviolet inks. The piece is prepared on a floating aluminum panel with a bracket attached that is ready to be hung that I personally guaranty can support the weight of the piece. Another great advantage of this medium is that the lifetime (continued color intensity, does not fade) of my pieces far exceed paper or canvas based alternatives.

As a child my high functioning autism made it hard to communicate with the world. My mother, a former art therapist who had previously worked with Autistic adults began doing art therapy with me. Through art I found my voice. Each day I paint or make art on my computer as a way to process my day and express myself emotionally. Art is a part of who I have become and I try to bring that creativity to everything I do.
