This painting reminds me to breathe, to take a deep breath and stand in awe of the majesty of life. There is so much pain and tragedy in life, I do not deny the pain, but this painting positions my heart to be thankful, grateful, and in awe despite the pain and the frustration of not understanding the tragedy of life. This painting helps me to take a breath of the abundant life I have the gift of partaking in. Somehow this painting helps me to recognize God's presence in my life and to take hope that even if I tried, I could not escape the beauty and love that this life has to offer. It reassures me that LOVE will find me, I cannot outrun it or escape it.
“My passion is to create images that illicit a memory, a place, a time, a moment, a melody or even an unmet desire. The goal is that when someone views one of my pieces it engenders thoughts of a place in which that person would want to live…home. When a viewer comments on one of my paintings saying, ‘I want to live in that place. . .I want to live there,’ I know that what needed to be accomplished in this outward form of expression indeed was.”
Ellis uses many layers of paint in her work resulting in a rich, dense, surface with a dreamlike appearance. Enchanting in its simplicity, Ellis endeavors to create a world where grace transforms reality into an inviting and peaceful environment. By combining light subtle tones with intense color variations Ellis imbues her work with depth and a mystical quality.
My name is Blue Bonnie Elisha Ellis. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. Ellis is an American painter, she was born and raised in West Texas. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation Ellis has lived and worked in New Mexico, Minnesota, and Los Angeles. Ellis studied and has taught fine art in her home state of Texas and continues to return to her roots for inspiration and to further her craft. “My process is incredibly organic. Each piece takes on a life of its own and embodies its own atmosphere. I use oil paint and multiple layers which makes every piece a practice of patience.”
